Useful Hints & Tips


Your safety is our number one priority and we have a number of security measures in place to ensure you have the safest and most enjoyable experience.

  • There will be a security presence at the event as we work closely with our agencies and partners to ensure the safety and security of those attending
  • Please minimise the amount of possessions you bring with you to the event. Our security provision for the event will include searches so please allow extra time to get to the venue, as a full bag and body search will be in operation
  • We remind you to remain vigilant at all times
  • Report anything which causes you any concern immediately

Conditions of entry

Please travel light; no large baggage will be allowed only small handbags and rucksacks are advised, that can easily be stored away under your seat.

Certain items are not allowed into the arena in the interests of Health and Safety including:

Weapons, ammunition, explosives, horns, whistles, drums, fireworks, flares, flag poles, large banners, helium balloons, selfie sticks, smoke grenades, drones, laser devices or any other item which in our reasonable opinion may cause danger or disruption to the event or to any other person (regardless of whether or not such item is illegal or is carried for specific purposes).

Any person in possession of such items will be refused entry to the arena. Any article that might be used as a weapon is deemed to be offensive or abusive, or compromise public safety, will be confiscated and reported to the Police.


Professional camera equipment (including tripods & monopods) can only be used by accredited photographers and is not permitted in spectator areas. Video camcorders and audio equipment are not allowed. Cameras with zoom or detachable lenses are allowed but any pictures or images must be for personal use only. Filming with an iPad's is not permitted. 

Box Office Timings

You’ll find the Arena Birmingham box office located on the Arena Floor level to the right of entrance E. This is accessible from both the north & south car parks.

















Food and Beverages

A small amount of cold food for personal consumption can be brought into the arena. Stay hydrated; crush-able drink containers only. Strictly no alcohol.

Hot food and beverages will be available to purchase at the event.

The Arena Temperature 

Please note due to the sports lighting, the temperature in the arena can get very warm. Given that outside the venue temperatures will be much lower in March, spectators are advised to dress appropriately with a number of layers that can be taken off inside.



An engaging, informative A4 coffee table programme will be produced and sold to spectators during the Championships.

The programme will reflect on the history of the Championships, star athletes, a guide to each event, what makes Birmingham a sports city and lots more entertaining editorial, combined with dramatic action photography, making each programme a must have souvenir of the Championships.

The programme will be sold at £6 combined with an complimentary daily guide to the championships. The Guide will list the events, start lists, start times results from the previous day.

Individual Daily Guides can be purchased for £3 to complete your set of results for the Championships.
